The Liberty projects themselves will sit on about 13.4 acres with an additional 15.75 acres of landscaping and drainage features. Jupiter is committed to very extensive landscaping around both projects, as well as along fencelines near neighboring houses, to more effectively obscure any view neighbors may have of the facility.
Most of the equipment will be energy storage containers, which are about the size and shape of shipping containers and will be placed in neat rows. These containers are fairly low to the ground, standing about 10 to 12 feet tall. Each site will also include a small project substation, which will look like a scaled-down version of the nearby Fall Creek substation.
The facilities will be set back from the road, surrounded by fencing, and screened with trees and other vegetation in areas where they might be visible from homes or public roads The projects will also be bordered by farmland, which means that—depending on the season and what’s planted—there will be natural, seasonal screening as well.
